Generally speaking, that is the case. However, the event I set out to attend out of curiosity for a while felt somewhat underwhelming. Had I expected anything? There were a few people I knew from before sitting at the booth, but I didn't bother stopping by to say hello. That was the only booth I was curious about regarding what they had brought, but I skipped that one and stayed for about ten minutes before leaving. The weather was nice, so the Gyeongui Line Forest Path was crowded. People with dogs, people with children, people running. Most of them had happy expressions, and I think watching them was actually more fun. I was about to call E to ask them to come out since they live quite nearby, but then I remembered it was a rare holiday to spend alone, so I scrolled through my messenger list a bit more and decided against it. People were gathered taking pictures even in front of flowers that hadn't fully bloomed yet. I texted my partner about this scene as I walked from Daeheung to Gongdeok before heading back to my neighborhood. Since I had brought the book I was reading, I stopped by Seoul Gypsy right away. The owner, whom I see often, asks me just by looking at my face, "Which beer would you like today?" It was cool—not yet condensation on the glass—yet still good enough weather to keep the windows open. The interior was dimly lit. The scent of spices used for the snacks. Sour beer. Even after reading a book for a while and ordering a meal, the sun hadn't set yet. So, when I say I’m going to write about things like this, my partner asks if this isn't the most fun. Everything I do is fun for you, so when I ask what the problem is, they reply that it’s fine in its own way. Perhaps people can only think about themselves when they are in a bad state of mind, and they can only think about themselves even when they are in a good state. Certainly, a few months ago I thought that guilt was what defined me, but these days I wonder what guilt is; I can just brush off anything. The only thing that can influence me is myself, and while my partner's mood sometimes affects me, I can now quickly brush that off too.
